September/October Update

Incase you didn't know, we're BIG Oregon Duck Fans! And they're currently #3 in the nation! AWESOME!!! Anyway, onto the updates...

Cole: Incase you missed it, check out the video of Cole walking in the previous post. He's doing so great! Not to mention he looks ADORABLE in those Wrangler jeans and hoodie! Cole's saying tons of words: "no", "oh yeah" or "yeah", "ok", "go", "ducks" (we're trying to get him to say "go ducks" but he can't quite put the two together yet), "dog", and he makes a funny sound..not sure what it means "oy di doe"????
In sign language he can say "more" and "milk". And if you say 'touchdown' he'll raise both arm up in the air! haha! That's the best one! =)
He has so much personality its crazy! I can't wait for the adventures in store for us in the future. Looking forward to Halloween this year, since Cole was too little to take out last year (especially with the whole H1N1 scare). I bet you're wondering what he's going to be????? I'll post pictures in November! =)

Dave: He's working close to home!!!!!! I'm just as shocked as you are! But I'm not complaining! I'm trying to not get too excited about it, or too used to it because I know once that happens that it'll be time for him to leave again. Our hunting season so far has been unsuccessful, thank goodness their's still some more time. Dave is working on selling his street bike. He says it hurts his back too much and he wants a Harley Davidson. I guess we'll see how that goes. Dave's sister Kassie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on September 7th. Her name is Riley. It was really weird holding a baby that was so little compared to how big our boys (Trevor & Cole) are now. When we were up visiting the new baby Cole & Trevor got to play together which was fun. They more or less play around each other, rather than actually interacting with each other. Still cute. Kassie tried taking some pictures but Cole wasn't having any of it! He kept glaring at her?

Me: Not a whole lot new with myself, that I can think of at least. I've been working 7am-4pm for a little bit, and I have to say that I love it! I do so much more with that extra hour in the evening time than I did with it in the morning!
My younger cousin Chris and his wife Jacque just had their first baby in September. His name is Michael. My Aunt Pam threw a wonderful baby shower for her. It was so nice to see everyone.

Not much else....OH except, look for a new PetSmart commercial to come out in February. The 'actors' may be familiar? =)

Roadtrip to Idaho

You’d think that I’d be able to rest after Cole’s birthday party…..but no. Thursday following the party, we left for Idaho! Before Dave and I met he lived in Idaho for about a year and worked with his Uncle Dan. During that time Dave became very close with Dan and Karie (Dan’s wife). This past weekend they were celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary and were throwing a big party, so we made the trip out there……
We left on Thursday around 3pm, Dave and I took turns driving and pulled an all-nighter! We got to Idaho Falls at 4:30am (that’s eastern Idaho, 1 hour ahead of Oregon). Luckily Cole was pretty amazing during the drive. So we get there, we have to wake up Cole to take him inside, Dave gets his pac’n’play (portable crib) set up and we lay him down…..of course, he’s too awake at this point and doesn’t want to go back to sleep! UGH! So by 5am, as to not wake up everyone (some other Oregon family members) in the house I decided to take Cole outside and walk around. I walked him up and down the street for AN HOUR! Without a stroller! OMGosh, my arms were DEAD. Poor Dave felt bad so he walked a little with me, then by 6am we decided since Cole was STILL awake that we’d go to McDonald’s since we were starving! So we load back up into the car and we’re not even half way there and Cole falls asleep! UGH! So we get the food anyway, eat it, then head back to the house. Cole’s still asleep by the time we get to the house, so Dave and I say screw it, we’ll sleep in the car. So I turn the engine off, and Cole WAKES UP! DAMNIT! We sit there for about 10 minutes while Cole’s screaming in the backseat, by this time is 7am…..and I say screw it! I need some sleep, so we take Cole inside. Luckily Aunt Karie had to go to cheerleading at 8am so she took Cole with her while we slept for a few hours. Karie said he had such a good time!  I heard there were pictures, but I haven’t seen them yet. Dave and I sleep until about 11am, we didn’t want to waste the day sleeping, but we needed at least a cat nap. After our nap everyone goes to the shooting range.

I thought that we were just trap shooting (you know, clay pigeons and all), but we actually did a course! So we did 10 out of 15 stations. And you have someone operating the throwers, so when its your turn the you get up there and when you’re ready you say ‘pull’ (like normal) and A will be released, as soon as you take your (single) shot, B is released, then after you reload you get ready again say ‘pull’ and they do BOTH A & B at the same time! Talk about quick! Each of the stations are different and increase in difficulty. Even a couple rolled across the ground to imitate rabbits! Those were pretty tough since they’d hit bumps and bounce! We didn’t keep score, but I know that out of 10 stations, I hit at least 1 target (4 total per station) and 8 of the stations! And 2 of the stations I hit 2! Dave was so proud of me!

I got SUPER sunburned though! It even blistered on my back! OUCH! I still had a ton of fun! We went back to the house and had dinner, and hung out (Dave and I were exhausted and weren’t really up for anything amazing not to mention a storm was rolling in. I think it may have sprinkled, but that was about it). Dave told me that they had TWO drive-in movie theatres there, so we thought about doing that, but we were way too tired. So, Saturday morning we did a little shopping to get make sure we were ready for the anniversary dinner that night. There was also a ‘Kid Jam’ (I think that’s what it was called), kind of a festival with vendors, food, music, etc….by the time we got there it was almost 3pm. It took us about 30 minutes to find Dan & Karie. Since Cole hadn’t napped all morning he was REALLY cranky, so Dave and I decided to get keys to the house from Dan so we could take Cole back to the house before everyone else got there and started making a bunch of noise.

We take off back to the house, despite the fact that Dave used to live there, his directional skills were 100% (maybe 90%, but not 100%)……everyone else had made it back to the house before us! Dang it! So Cole goes down for a nap, and he got MAYBE 30 minutes to sleep before we had to get going for the dinner (Aunt Karie had arranged for family pictures prior to dinner). The whole way to the park Cole was HORRIBLE! OMG! Just horrible! I felt so bad that we were going to ruin their dinner! So we get there and the photographers (husband/wife team, also Karie’s neighbors) were GREAT! The husband, Nate, was taking the pictures while Emily, his wife, was making Cole laugh! She’d hid behind Nate and then pop out saying “Boo” in the highest pitched voice possible! EVERYONE was laughing! It was so funny! Every time we’d stop for a moment and take a break, Cole would go looking for her! Thankfully she put him in a good mood. So directly following pictures, we had dinner. Salad was good, Dave didn’t like it as much, I think it was a bit too fancy for him….but Cole thought it was great, he had half of my salad and half of Karie’s! So the options for dinner were Salmon, Prime Rib or Ravioli’s, Dave and I decided on the Prime Rib………HOLY CRAP was it the BIGGEST, THICKET, most Tender piece of prime rib I’d EVER seen! You could seriously cut this with a butter knife! The dumb part was, I have Cole sitting next to me and out of 17 people, I was served LAST! Are you kidding me? Do you not hear the yelling child next to me??? Luckily the people sitting across from us had children of their own so they understood, and even shared some of their dinner with Cole until I got mine. Cole loved every bit of dinner, he ate at LEAST half of mine, some of Dave’s, and some more of the couple’s across from us! I couldn’t believe it! We joked that we should have ordered him a plate! He even ate more that half of my dessert! By the time dinner was over everyone was stuffed and I was still hungry! Lol. We made the drive back on Sunday so Dave would be ready for work on Monday morning...

Cole's Birthday Party

So, the Thursday prior to his birthday I did all the grocery shopping for Cole’s party. I stopped by the bakery department at Wal*mart to see what they offered in the way of cakes. I was planning on making Cole a race car out of cupcakes, but I wanted to get Cole a cake just for him. They have recently come out with ‘petite cakes’, which are about 4” in size, so I thought that would be perfect, then the other guests could have the cupcakes. So I order a Disney Cars cake, complete with Lightning McQueen on top, I went to pick it up Friday after I helped out at Relay For Life, and I literally laughed in the lady’s face. It looked HORRIBLE! The picture that I picked out was twice the size (in height) as the one she was holding. The picture had two rows across the top of checkers, and the cake she showed me had the rows, but they weren’t at all straight….and that’s just the beginning of it! The only thing that looked like the picture was the plastic Lightning McQueen car that sat on top! I couldn’t believe she was trying to sell me such an awful cake. I told her to keep it, and I’d figure something else out! OMG it was bad! Luckily, my Mom was with me, and she offered to make Cole a cake. She ended up doing an AMAZING job on his cake (see picture, she made the cake and I did the cupcake cars). I’m sure you can tell he enjoyed the cake.  At one point when he was eating his cake he quit using his hands, and just went in face first! I also made the ‘Happy Birthday Cole’ banner. Cole got TONS of gifts! A Lightning McQueen 4-wheeler, a toy barbecue, a dozen or so trucks of all kinds, clothes, and even a GIANT (53”) teddy bear! He had so much fun!

BIRTHDAY BOY!

In honor of Cole's birthday, I thought I'd share his birth story for those of you who haven't heard it. =)

August 1st, 2009. David and I spent the day in Eugene with my Mom. We had lunch at the Olive Garden, went to the movies and saw 'Public Enemies'. Went to visit my friend, Britney. Since I wasn't feeling any contractions we headed back home to Oakridge. Dave and I got home at 9:00pm. I started feeling a little weird, and thought my water broke. I hadn't had a single contraction yet. I had the on call physician paged, then sat in the bedroom waiting for the doctor to call back. About 9:20pm, the doctor returned the phone call. While on the phone with the doctor my water broke. Dave packed up the car and by 9:40pm we were back in the car on the way to town. Contractions started about 10pm, and at the most were 7 minutes apart. David was driving, texting, calling people, and timing contractions the whole way. We arrived to the hospital around 10:30pm. At 11pm I was finally checked for the first time, only 1cm dialated. After getting 'trying' to get comfortable the nurse attempted to place an IV in my arm, unsuccessfully I might add. She kept joking that my "vein keeps rolling". It was horrible! As if its not bad enough while you're in labor to have ANYONE touching you let alone try to poke you with a needle and DIG around. Anyway, while the nurse was trying to get some IV pain killers I tried the warm bath, but it didn't really work very well. Eventhough it had only been a short time since the nurse had started the pain killers I asked her to check me again....4 cm!!!!! Now 4-5 cm is the magic number for an EPIDERAL!!!!! Oh heck yeah! I asked for it right away. It took about 45 minutes for the anesthesiologist to get to my room, by this time i was 7cm! My mom stayed in the room with my while I got the epideral since Dave is terrified of needles. As soon as he was done Dave came back and helped to get me as comfortable as possible. It couldn't have been more than 15 minutes after getting the epideral I was ready to push....it was 2:18am......Cole was born at 2:28am. (from water breaking to birth....5 hours 8 minutes!) 8 pounds 5 ounces. 21 inches long. Dark hair and blue eyes. BEAUTIFUL

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY COLE!
We're throwing Cole a party this weekend, and I promise, I'll write a post about it. Pictures and all!

Camping, Swimming, Party Planning

We planned on going camping the weekend of 4th of July with Wade & Krissi (Dave's sister and brother-in-law) as well as Kassie, Adam & Trevor (Dave's oldest sister, brother-in-law and nephew). Just a few days before we were planning on leaving Cole came down sick....really sick! The doctor said that he bilateral ear infections. Worse than he had had before. Luckily we were able to start him on antibiotics a few days prior, and we were still good to go camping. A week prior to this trip we got an offer we couldn't refuse to buy a 5th wheel camp trailer. Now, we don't have to miss any camping trips due to cold weather, like Memorial weekend. The camper is 27 feet long and sleeps around 8. It was so nice to have so the little boys could play and crawl around. Trevor brought his red wagon and the boys had tons of fun rolling around and playing in it together!
Cole went on his very first boat ride, and Uncle Wade even let him drive!
We took our dogs on the camping trip as well, however seeing as they're Beagles and are known to follow their noses...we had to keep them tied up most of the trip. We did get a chance to take them for a long walk with the little boys. Dave and I decided that since there weren't very many other people around we'd let them off the leash, and PRAY that they'd come back when we called. and they did! It was so wonderful! Buck even got belly deep in water!!!!! Normally he's terrified of water outside of a water dish. We drove to La Pine to La Pine to watch the fireworks. Cole was SUPER tired but thought they were pretty cool. On Monday when we got back from camping, Cole took his very first steps! It was AWESOME! Dave was even here to see! =)
This past weekend we took Cole up to Packard Creek to go play in the water. This was his first time playing in something other than our bathtub. He LOVES bathtime so I had no doubts in my mind that he'd have a great time! And that he did! Splashing, Kicking and jumping! We made sure to put on plenty of sun screen!! =) Cole's 1st birthday is 2 weeks from TODAY! Can you believe it??? We're having a RACING barbecue at our house for his birthday. I'm beyond excited! Here's Cole Dancing.....

Father's Day

Dave just had his first father's day. I wish that the weather would have been a little bit better so we could have done what I had planned, but oh well. I think we had a decent day.
I had the hardest time figuring out what to get Dave for Dad Day, but with Cole being so young it was hard considering he can't make him anything so I decided to figure out something he could take with him while he's working out of town. I found a wonderful travel coffee mug that you can insert pictures into!(Dave's not a big coffee drinker, only when he's out of town getting up really early) I put in a ton of pictures of Cole and Dave LOVED it! So did all of the guys at work! He also got some t-shirts. I had planned on us going fishing so I bought Dave some night-crawlers but the weather wasn't wonderful so we'll have to postpone it.

That about sums up Father's Day......sorry no pictures for this one.

Update

Oh gosh. Again, I feel like always have a ton of things to blog about but when I finally sit down I draw a blank....we'll see how it turns out.

Cole started standing (as you saw in the last post). He's also clapping, and its super cute. He's getting so big that I had to buy him a new car seat. I took it to Jenny's house so she could get the straps all adjusted and she noticed that one of the straps were frayed. So I had to call the company to get replacement straps, I definitely wasn’t going to put Cole in something that was defective, even if it was just a little bit. I called them and they said it would take 1-2 days, but if it didn't come in 7-10 that I should call back. Well guess what? No straps! So I called them again. Hopefully they come soon. Trevor (Cole's cousin) turned 1 Memorial weekend. Cole enjoyed his cupcake. :)

June 5th: Dave got a new tattoo in honor of a friend that passed away in the motorcycle accident. We're SO happy with how it turned out! Check it out...

June 13th: My cousin Catie had her High School graduation party in Silverton. Cole had a wonderful time with my other cousins Mary and Sarah. My aunt & uncle's house had a slopped backyard, so Mary took Cole to the top, then she and Sarah tried teaching Cole how to roll down. Cole didn't really get it, but he had the best time chasing after the girls. Maybe next time.

Just this last Monday, Cole and I took the dogs on a walk. Back before Cole was born my dad bought a backpack to carry him in, so now that Cole is old enough and the weather happened to be somewhat decent I decided to try it out. OH MAN and I sore! Cole absolutely LOVED it. He was singing, laughing & jumping. Since we had the dogs with us, he kept saying "dog dog dog". Too cute! I'm determined to continue to use the backpack throughout the summer. Not only is it a good workout, but everyone gets to go on the walk (if I put Cole in his stroller, I can't control both the stroller and the dogs).

Dave's aunt & uncle in Idaho are having a 5 year anniversary party towards the end of the summer. Dave REALLY wants to go visit them, he misses them alot after living in Idaho for a year. We're going to try and figure out a way to at least go for a couple days, but we'll have to see.

Now that the weather is getting nicer we're barbecuing ALOT. Dave's learning tons of new things to make using his new barbecue grill.

This weekend is Father's Day and I can't wait!

well there's the update, until next time.

Mother's Day Weekend

I have to say that I had the best Mother's Day ever! I realize that this was my first one, but i'm not too sure that it can be topped!

So, a couple weeks ago, Krissi (Dave's sister) asked if she could take Cole to Salem with her to visit their other sister, Kassie and Cole's Cousin Trevor (8 weeks older than Cole). We didn't have anything going on so I asked if I could go.....not knowing that she would be working on her Mother's Day gift to me! She called Dave and told him her idea, and to make something up so I wouldn't want to go (she didn't want to be rude and just say 'No, you can't come')! lol. So they went up and I said i'd go next time.
So Friday after work she picked me up from work (we carpool together) and grabbed a pink package from the backseat. I opened the gift to find two GORGEOUS framed pictures! One of Cole and Trevor matching.....

The second was this great NAKED picture! I can't wait to show everyone when he graduates high school!!!!!

Dave decided for Mother's Day he'd call my friend Jen, a photography student, to take some family photos on Saturday. I had tons of fun. I can't wait to see how they turned out. I should have them by the end of the week! I'm stoked! He also went to Thing's Remembered (a personalization store) and bought a BEAUTIFUL 8x10 Silver photo album. I'm going to take it in and get it engraved this weekend. =)

Dave didn't end up having to go to Idaho this week. His boss said he's going to try real hard to make it so he wouldn't have to go at all. Keep your fingers crossed.

Other than that, nothing too exciting.

Bye for now,
Brie

Spring Time

Welcome back to blog world??? Whenever I'm out and about doing errands or even at work I think, "Oh, I should blog tonight"....then by the time I get home, I'm exhausted after playing with Cole, making dinner, putting him to bed, etc. How the heck am I going to get better at this? Any thoughts??? Maybe I just need to set aside a certain day/time of the week and just DO IT?! I don't know, I need to do something. Then again, I could just be wasting my time? I doubt anyone, other than me, reads this anyway. Oh well. We'll see. Anyway.....onto the updates.... COLE: Cole just had his 9 month check up. His doctor said he's "absolutely perfect". What mother doesn't love hearing that? =) He's standing 30 inches tall (94%)! and just shy of 23 pounds(85%)! That's right, we feed out kids Miracle Grow out here in the boonies. He's crawling around FAST. Pulling himself up on everything. He can even walk himself back and forth along the couch while holding on. I'm positive he'll be walking before too long. On Sundays, Dave and I take Cole out to breakfast at the local Dairy Queen (yes, in the country the Dairy Queen's serve breakfast, and I'm not talking Egg McMuffin, I'm talking eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, omlets etc). Cole gets his very own 'bear' pancake. This past weekend we took Cole to the park. His favorite part....the swing! Earlier this evening my niece, Malena, had a musical production at her school. Cole and I went and had a blast. Cole was so great the whole time! There was a part during the show where the kids were banging on drums (kind of like 'Stomp'), OH MY GOSH, this was Cole's FAVORITE part. I had to quite taking pictures just to video tape him dancing, laughing and clapping! My mom, who was holding him, and I were laughing so hard we had tears running down our faces. Not to mention all the people sitting around us started watching him too! Too cute. Here's a video, sorry its sideways....

Dave: Dave has been working in Hood River for the past few weeks. Sunday, they're planning on shipping him to Idaho! =( Did I mention that was Mother's Day?? Either way...I'm not too happy about him being gone. At first, the plan was for him to leave on Sunday and come back the following Monday.....well, now the plan is to leave this Sunday and work 180 straight hours, then come home. So basically work 2 straight weeks then finally come home! ugh, I would have complained about 1 week, but would have gotten over it, but 2 weeks? What am I going to do?!?!?! I know for at least one day I'll take Cole down to play with Logan (little friend of Cole's, he's 5 month older than Cole).

Me: Post op has gone well so far. I do have one internal stitch that has shown up below the surface and was SUPER annoying because it was REALLY rensitive to anything that touched it, even clothing. You can still feel it under the skin, but its not as sensitive anymore. The doctor said it was disovable, so it should go away eventually.
We all recently went on a trip to Pendleton to visit a friend. It was lots of fun seeing him again, definatly worth the long drive. Can't wait to see him again.
Other than that, I can't think of a whole lot going on.

Bye for now =)

Surgery

I my gall bladder taken out yesterday. Feeling pretty good, alot better than I thought I would by this point.
I think the worse part of it all was getting the IV. They never seemed to bother me before, but the nurse missed the first time, then her second try she thought she got it but it ended up blowing out. The area got super swollen and hard so she took it out and got the anesthesiologist to put it in......and he missed the first one too! dang. FINALLY the fourth one worked. When he did it, he decided to switch arms. He had to cut off my ID bands. I kept seeing the nurse walking around with a cool looking lime green bracelet (they were the pediatric ID bands), so I figured since they had to cut my old plain white one that I asked them for a green one! Made the whole IV thing better! =) I was the only adult getting surgery that day.

Back to relaxing =)

Firsts

Last week Cole started clapping. He thinks its the greatest thing on earth. =) For the past month he's been doing this weird crawling thing, except it's not your conventional hands and knees crawling, he was getting his belly in there somehow so it looked like "the worm". Today he started 'REAL' crawling! too cute! I can't believe how fast babies are! He's been holding himself up really well, and even taking steps when you hold his hands.

I tried loading the video on here, but its taking too long? You can see it on my facebook.

New Food

Cole tried "3rd foods" on Sunday. He HATED it! He gagged the whole time. He can eat foods that we give him like pancakes and eggs. But he doesn't understand that you have to chew the stuff that comes out of a jar. So, we'll see how it goes.

Again, if anyone has any suggestions on topics for the blog....let me know....

Bad Blogger

Alright, I keep saying I'll get better and better about this.....I've really dropped the ball haven't I? ***SIGH*** I'm sorry. So as for an update....

Cole: Moving forward! yay! It's about time. I guess you could call it crawling, but it looks more like he doing "the worm". Pretty cute actually. Getting more teeth, this time the top ones. Believe it or not, he's STILL his happy lil self despite waking up at 3am to play with Mommy. :) Started sticking his tounge out a little bit, SUPER cute! Still saying "Mamamamama" and "Dadadadada", and now theirs "nananananana" which my guess is he's saying "no". Had his 2nd haircut about a week ago! Looks adorable as always!

David: Doing well. Still working out of town during the week. Getting ready to take an herbacide test for work. Hopefully when he gets certified that means a raise? We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Me: Started exercising yesterday. Well see how long it lasts, hopefully this is something I can stick to. Other than that, I'm not too sure that anything else has been going on. (maybe this is why I should blog more often).

6 Month Check Up

Ok, so I realize that Cole will be 7 months on Tuesday, but last week he had his 6 month check up with his doctor. Here's the update....Cole's 27 3/4 inches (92%), 21lbs 8oz (>95%), 18 1/8" Head (93%).....Meaning he's the size of a 1 year old! The dr asked how he was doing with grabbing things or holding onto things...and not more than a second later he grabbed the paper off the exam table. His doctor asked me how he was doing on "1st foods"...I told her he was already on "2nd foods"...the dr said that we could start giving him adult food. Not just super soft stuff like mashed potatoes.....as long as its really soft, like steamed vegetables that are cut up really small. His development is that of a 9 month old!!!! & His doctor says he's healthy as can be! Next appointment is at 9 months (April).

He's getting closer and closer to crawling everyday! Right now he rolls....then pivots....then rolls some more....he's getting around pretty good! I'm impressed!

Yesterday he went to his friend Logan's 1st birthday party. They had tons of fun together. Can't wait for them to play together again soon.

Need to get better at this!

Alright, so I have to somehow get better at blogging....not sure how I'm going to do it....but i'll have to figure something out. 3 weeks without a blog is too long and i'm sure you agree. let catch up on the past few weeks....

Cole is getting on all fours now. He's not crawling quite yet, for right now he's just rocking back and forth. Today he started to stick his butt in the air. He's been getting around by rolling, and is getting pretty darn good at rolling and turning and rolling some more. Smart little man! His teeth are coming beautifully...not to mention sharp! For the past couple weeks Cole has been saying "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma" & "da-da-da-da-da-da" etc. Super cute. He's been eating baby food, and has even started eating some 'big people' food (with the help of his feeder thingy, it looks like a big pacifier but its mesh and you put food inside so he won't choke on anything big). See the picture below...and let me tell you what....HE LOVES IT! In one day Cole ate a WHOLE peach and half a banana!

Two weekends ago we took Cole to the Boat & Sportsman Show to see the GRIZZLY bear! I don't think Cole really payed attention much, but oh well, we took pictures of it so we can show him later. This next weekend is the Logging Conference....Dave's SUPER excited about taking Cole. Then we're off to a birthday party for Cole's friend Logan who will be turning 1.

Dave was recently promoted at work and I couldn't be more proud! He's worked so hard to get to where he is today and he definatly deserves it!

Lent started last Wednesday....I decided to give up cookies....wish me luck! I've done pretty good so far. I realized that it was a HORRIBLE idea on Saturday when I went to Walmart and there were Girl Scouts selling cookies outside! Oh My Goodness....what a test! I'll have you know...I didn't buy a single one! Not even to save them until after Easter! I'm proud of myself!

Cole's doctor's appointment is this week....so I'll do my best to post after that!

Oh yeah.....if anyone has suggestions of topics for future posts...feel free to share your ideas!

Cutting Teeth

Cole's cut his first teeth! Bottom middle! Jenny thinks there will be some top ones soon. But here's a picture.....hopefully you'll be able to see em. Cole's 6 month appointment is on Wednesday. More to come then.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

So its been a while.....my apologies, but nothing SUPER exciting has been happening the last couple days. Cole and I spent another week on our own. Dave works for a company that for a good portion of the year takes him out of town during the week from Monday through Thursday. He really likes his job minus the traveling part. Hopefully he'll be working closer to home here shortly so he can be home in the evening.

I recently got a promotion at work, however have not been able to start my new job until a replacement starts, then I'll train that person...then finally start. I'm looking forward to the new challenges. So we'll see how that goes.

Cole started rolling about a month ago. Now, he's rolling around like CRAZY! Before long i'm sure he'll be crawling! Can't believe the time has gone so fast! Here's a video of Cole rolling for everyone to enjoy.

A few firsts

Saturday January 2nd Cole turned 5 months old.......and got his very first haircut. Dave said he did SO well! He looks super handsome! He looks so much more like a little boy now instead of a baby.

I wasn't able to be there for Cole's haircut because I got an invitation to go snowboarding for the first time ever. Lets just say that I probably won't go again.....not worth the pain. I honestly think child birth was easier than snowboarding.....not to mention less painful! I'd rather spend my time at home with my family anyway.

New Year's Resolution

Welcome.

This is my New Year's Resolution, I've decided to start a blog. The blog is to keep everyone up to date on our little family.....Dave, Cole, Copper, Buck & Myself. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Christmas was wonderful. We spent the day at home with my mother and Dave's Dad, along with Dave's sister Krissi and her husband Wade. The weekend following Christmas we got the opportunity to stay at a beach house in Lincoln City with Dave's Mom's family. The weather was unbelievably GORGEOUS!!! Didn't even rain once! We went to the Newport Aquarium, Lincoln City Outlet mall, and even had a huge Seafood Feast complete with crab and gross things with shells. EWWW. Dave was nice enough to grill a steak for me since I don't like seafood. Here are some pictures from our holiday weekend.
